In addition to general scholarships, there are scholarships specifically open to community college students, military veterans, non-traditional students, students with disabilities, minority students, LGBTQ students, STEM majors, and student athletes. Sponsor: API Study Abroad Luther and Mary Ida Vandross Scholarship Amount: Up to $6,000 Apply By: June 14, 2019 Description: Scholarship is open to students in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of study leading to an undergraduate degree who are enrolled at a four-year Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Sponsor: The Philadelphia Foundation Ricoh Scholarship Program Amount: Up to $2,500 Apply By: June 14, 2019 Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled as a full-time college sophomore or junior at a Historically Black College/University (HBCU). Applicant must be majoring in one of the following: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or Business Operations. Sponsor: UNCF | Ricoh TechChecks Business Leadership Scholarship Amount: $1,000 Apply By: June 15, 2019 Description: Scholarship is open to incoming students for Fall 2019 who will be working towards any field that emphasizes business or marketing. Preference will be given to applicants who are female, have a disability, or belong to a minority group. Sponsor: TechChecks Freedom of Religion Foundation Catherine Fahringer Memorial Award Amount: $2,500 Apply By: June 21, 2019 Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who live in the U.S. who identify as atheist, agnostic, humanist and/or secular, and have been accepted to a two or four-year college. Preference is given to students of color. Students who are (or have been) in foster care, homeless, undocumented and/or LGBTQ are encouraged to apply. Sponsor: Black Skeptics Los Angeles | Freedom From Religion Foundation AfterCollege STEM Inclusion Scholarship Amount: $500 Apply By: June 30, 2019 Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled students working towards a degree in a field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics from a group underrepresented in their field of study. Underrepresented groups will be given preference. Sponsor: AfterCollege AWG Minority Scholarship Amount: Up to $2,000 Apply By: June 30, 2019 Description: Scholarship is open to minority female students who are enrolled full-time in a geosciences program. Sponsor: Association for Women Geoscientists David Hudak Memorial Essay Contest for Freethinking Students of Color Amount: Up to $3,500 Apply By: July 15, 2019 Description: Competition is open to freethinking students of color ages 17-21 who are either high school seniors or students currently enrolled in a college or university. Applicant must submit an essay on a given prompt related to rejection of religion. Sponsor: Freedom From Religion Foundation William A. Crawford Minority Teacher Scholarship Amount: Varies Apply By: September 1, 2019 Description: Scholarship is open to minority students (defined as black and Hispanic individuals) planning to teach in an accredited school in Indiana upon graduation. Sponsor: Indiana Commission for Higher Education Law School Diversity Scholarship Program Amount: $2,000 Apply By: October 1, 2019 Description: Scholarship is open to students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed at least one semester of classes at an accredited law school. Applicant must be a member of an ethnic or racial minority or any individual who demonstrates a defined commitment to issues of diversity within their academic career.
